Here
are some of our most Frequently Asked Questions. If your questions
aren't answered here, please feel free to email your question to
us at: contact@ecadconsulting.com.
1.
What should I know before I contact ECAD?
Before
you contact ECAD it is ideal that you have the following information:
- •
Computer Model name (i.e. iMac, eMac, PowerBook, G5, iBook, etc.)
• Computer Processor Speed and Memory (Can
be found by going to the Apple menu on the top left hand corner
of your screen and clicking on about this Mac)
• Operating System version (Also
found in the same place and the Processor Speed Information:
i.e. Jaguar, Panther, Tiger, 10.2, 10.3.5, etc.)
We
can handle the rest. Don't hesitate to call us if you can't figure
this out, but ideally this information will help us to bring the
correct equipment and to better diagnose the problem.
2.
ECAD specializes in Macs, but I have a PC, can ECAD help me?
Yes!
We are proud to announce our introductory services for PC support.
We have a staff of people now ready to help you with your PC problems.
While
we are still devoted to Macs, we have hired several highly-skilled
PC consultants to take care of any Windows and Server related problems.
3.
What should I do to prepare for a visit from ECAD?
Each
case is different, however, the majority of the time our clients
do not need to prepare anything unless we designate something for
your specific problem.
4.
I am thinking about switching from Mac to PC, why should I go Mac?
At
ECAD we feel that the best reasons to use a Mac all stem from the
fact that they tend not to crash and cannot get viruses, two causes
of the majority of computer-related headaches. Furthermore, the
Mac and PC compatibility issues of the early 90s are a distant memory,
Macs can open PC created files, network with windows, and even read
PC formatted disks all with out any extra software. Users no longer
have to worry about different file types or conversions. On top
of all that, with modestly priced software you can even run Windows
versions of popular software on your Mac.
Basically
our core belief at ECAD, is that we think almost everything you
would want to do on a computer, be it for your home or your business,
can be done on a Mac, and in most cases done BETTER and with ignorantly
less frustration. However, don't take our word for it, we've complied
a few links that might help you decide it the switch to Mac is the
right move for you:
5.
Do you offer any private tutoring?
ECAD
is happy to set up one-time or recurring tutoring sessions for every
aspect of your computing needs. Whether you are taking a class and
need weekly tutoring support for homework assignments or need a
crash course in the new operating system, we would be glad to help
you.
Please
contact us and let us know what you are interested in learning and
we can work out a schedule that is convenient for you at a place
that is convenient for you.
6.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We
accept cash, checks (personal and corporate), and all major credit
cards via Paypal. All payment by credit card will incur a 3% surcharge
to compensate for service fees.
